This CPD workshop gives teachers, lecturers and youth theatre leaders the chance to dive into Emma Rice Company’s innovative approach to theatre-making.

You will learn how to apply the company’s playful and collaborative methods in a learning setting, unlocking new ways to engage students with devising, physicality, and imaginative storytelling.

You’ll use Malory Towers as a stimulus and be guided through Emma Rice Company’s unique devising process, learning tips and tricks along the way.

You’ll learn how to foster an environment where students can think outside the box and develop their own creative ideas. You’ll be equipped with the tools to build ensembles within a classroom and build student’s confidence in devising. We want to work with you, so together we can inspire the next generation of theatre-makers.

As part of taking part in this session, participants will be able to watch the Malory Towers 1.30pm matinee performance following the workshop. Your ticket can be collected at box office on the day of the workshop.

They will also receive access to our video resources, designed to help drama teachers and students understand Emma Rice Company’s work, and create their own theatre through using some of our approaches.
