Do you have experience of working in lighting within the events, performance or creative industries? Are you self-motivated and have a proactive work ethic? If so, you could be our new Lighting & Video Technician.
We are recruiting for a technician with experience of lighting and video within the events and entertainment industry to join us in the role of Lighting & Video Technician.
You will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of Lighting & Video support for productions in our venues and community driven projects across our city. Working on in-house productions and providing good quality support to visiting companies. Lighting is the primary concentration for the department, alongside maintaining the video delivery within in-house productions during a run, handed over from freelance video designers and video engineers.
You will be working in collaboration with colleagues across our production departments in support of external creative teams and our Playhouse Connect team.
We support designers, directors and all manner of artists in realising their vision, through the creative use of lighting and video in projects that reach far wider than just our traditional performance spaces.
Of course, we need an exceptional technician with the expertise to solve technical challenges, but we also need great team players, who champion the Playhouse’s values and who can approach projects with a strong understanding of how their skills and support can be of benefit.
This is a full time, permanent contract of 40 hours per week over 6 days. Evening, weekend and some public holiday work will be required. You will be expected to work overtime as required. Leeds Playhouse operates under an in-house agreement.
Pay for the role is £25,646 per year, plus BECTU/UK Theatre commercial get-outs and overtime payments. We also offer a 12-week relocation payment for those eligible.
Benefits at Leeds Playhouse include 5 weeks holiday entitlement (plus 1.6 weeks of bank holidays), that increases with length of continuous employment; 2 wellbeing days a year; and discounts across our food and drinks, free show tickets and a local gym and swimming discount. Please see our job pack for more benefits we offer.
