Alfred Fagon Award Writers Workshop

8 Nov

  • Venue
    Leeds Playhouse
  • Time
    10AM - 6PM

The Alfred Fagon Award is offering a one-day writing workshop to ten new and emerging Black British playwrights based in West Yorkshire.

Ten writers will be invited to attend a FREE day long workshop led by Oladipo Agboluaje at Leeds Playhouse. You’ll also have the chance to meet one of the past winners of the Alfred Fagon Award for a Q&A. The Alfred Fagon Award is the leading award for Black British writers and previous winners include Inua Ellams, Faith Omole, Kwame Owusu and Hannah Shury-Smith.

If you are selected for the workshop you must commit to producing a draft of a new play within four months of attending the workshop. This play will be considered for the Alfred Fagon Award. We encourage all playwrights no matter their level of experience to apply.

Please complete this short application form by Friday 17 October

Successful applicants will be notified by Monday 27 October by email.
