Would you like to create fun, engaging events for YOUR community? Our new Collective community producer programme could be exactly the opportunity you're looking for.

Collective is a new community action project that gives you the opportunity to develop your project delivery and producing skills, with participants designing and delivering 2 events at the Playhouse.

We are looking for 8 young people, aged 16-21, for our first Collective cohort, which runs across 12 Tuesday evening sessions from November to March.

This is a FREE programme and we are actively encouraging people who have faced barriers to taking part in creative and cultural activity to sign up. This might be because of your lived experience of race, class, Deafness, disability or other factors. We will work with you to make sure the project is accessible and that we remove any barriers to you taking part.

As part of our efforts to work with our closest neighbours, we are also particularly keen to hear from anyone living in Burmantofts and Richmond Hill.

As part of the Collective cohort, you will:

  • take part in a series of workshops led by theatre and engagement professionals
  • develop skills to plan, deliver and produce amazing community events
  • learn how to manage a budget, create a schedule, plan a project, and ensure events are accessible
  • work with your fellow participants, supported by the Playhouse, to design and deliver 2 community events at Leeds Playhouse
  • see selected Playhouse productions for free
  • and, as a Collective Alumni, develop a range of transferable skills and a group of proactive collaborators

Register your interest in joining our first Collective by filling in this form.

Once you have completed the form, a member of our Playhouse Connect team will be in touch no later than 4 November to let you know whether you have secured a place.
