A thrilling new collaborative performance by choreographer TC Howard and Yorkshire Dance's Company of People.

Our wild and untamed Yorkshire landscape, shaped over millennia, with its wide open hills, sweeping moorlands, towering limestone cliffs, valleys, waterfalls and swathes of heather rising from the peat is a place to feel beautifully insignificant and magnificently connected.

Is this where time stands still or is time less easy to grasp? Can we feel the quiet strength of the earth beneath our feet, hear stories whispered in the wind, a rugged call in the rocks and trees, and mischief in the air? Maybe it can inspire an idea; something wild, a chance to imagine things differently… a wild hope.

Wild Hope is followed by a special pop-up performance by Dance On Up and TEMPO.

Yorkshire Dance’s Company of People is an inter-generational dance group rooted in the communities of Chapeltown and Harehills.

This event is part of Open Season, the Playhouse’s annual festival of community creativity. The theme for 2026 is Happy Birthday, Leeds! commemorating the milestone 400th anniversary of our hometown receiving its royal charter and becoming a city.
