When thinking of the Windrush generation we imagine those who came as factory workers, nurses and bus drivers. We often forget about those who arrived in England as artists and contributors to the traditional musical genres of the Caribbean people.

Steel Pan Stories offers a creative insight into the story of renowned steel pan pioneer St Clair Leroy Augustine Morris and the history of the steel pan itself through the musical sounds of calypso, and soca narratives.

Directed by Khadijah Ibrahiim, featuring songs, stories and choreography by Paulette Morris with the Paradise Band and other guest artists.

Steel Pan Stories is part of 1001 Stories a revolutionary two-week takeover where older people perform, exhibit and express their stories of lives lived to the fullest.
