A Killer Cult Classic with Bite!
Directed by Jamie Sophia Fletcher, this electrifying new production of Little Shop of Horrors sinks its teeth into the show’s gloriously dark roots, fusing the razor-sharp wit of the Broadway stage musical with retro B-movie mayhem and the campy horror thrills of the original 1986 musical film. At Leeds Playhouse, expect a bold, stylish revival that revels in the grotesque, the hilarious, and the irresistibly catchy.
Down on Skid Row, Seymour Krelborn is a timid florist’s assistant with big dreams and even bigger problems. When he discovers a mysterious plant he names Audrey II, everything changes. This seductive, wisecracking, R&B-singing carnivore offers him fame, fortune, and the girl of his dreams… but there’s just one small catch, it needs to be fed… Blood! As Seymour’s fortunes grow, so too does Audrey II’s appetite and its sinister plan for world domination begins to unfurl.
Packed with unforgettable songs by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, the legendary duo behind Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors has captivated audiences for decades. This thrilling new staging sharpens its edge, embracing the show’s deliciously macabre heart while delivering laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning visuals, and feel-good night at the theatre.
Mischievous, monstrous, and irresistibly fun — this is Little Shop of Horrors as you’ve never seen it before.
