Suicide remains one of society’s most difficult and often taboo conversations — yet silence can come at a devastating cost.

Fear, stigma and uncertainty about saying the “wrong” thing can stop people from speaking openly, supporting others, or asking for help.

This sensitive and thought-provoking debate about how we talk about suicide brings together academics, campaigners, and people with deeply personal experiences of loss and recovery.

Together, this panel will navigate how media, friendships, masculinity and modern pressures can influence mental health and emotional wellbeing and why talking about suicide may be one of the most important steps toward prevention, understanding, and hope.

Host: Amy Irons

Panel: Andy Airey MBE, Roman Kemp, Donelle Lawrence, Professor Rory O’Connor, Ellie Palma-Cass
