Leeds Playhouse are proud to welcome the Grief Series (UK) by Leeds’ very own Ellie Harrison & Zion Art Studio (Mexico) to the Playhouse as they welcome you to celebrate Day of the Dead reimagined with the people of Yorkshire.

All That Lives is a 9-day celebration of those we’ve loved and lost taking place at Leeds Playhouse, Leeds City College, and Centre for Live Art Yorkshire (CLAY) from 27 October to 4 November.

Enjoy provocative live performance exploring grief and “loss through amazing visual and digital art, immersive activities and heart-touching conversations about death and love.

Learn about Mexican Day of the Dead traditions and contribute objects to an immersive public Ofrenda to celebrate those you have loved and lost.

With its fair share of provocative events programmed by Centre for Live Art Yorkshire (CLAY) we hope you’ll laugh ‘til you cry, remember the good times and leave with a lighter heart.

Signposting to practical help, advice and local services will be available via our facilitated Crossing sessions with facilitators trained in holding meaningful, helpful conversations around the themes of life and death.

Create, make and decorate Day of the Dead paper crafts with artists from Mexico at Leeds Playhouse. Come along for alternative Halloween and crafting activities that  are fun, creative and suitable for all ages and abilities!

This Caravan was built as part of Journey with Absent Friends to house our mobile museum of memorial. It travelled with Ellie Harrison from Leeds, to Oxford, to Hamburg and the Isle of Arran as she tried to answer questions about where the memory of the dead lives. Along the way it collected stories from the people that visited it.

Now it is here for you to explore, and potentially contribute to, as part of All That Lives.
