Gina Tavares Manuel was an important part of the Leeds Playhouse community. She was a multi-skilled artist who loved to write poetry and work with young people and community members to help them make poetry too.

In her memory, we want to encourage others to do the same and so we are launching the Gina Tavares Manuel Poetry Competition.

We’d love your students to write a poem which tells us all about them and the things they are passionate about and the mark they want to make on the world. The theme for our poetry competition is ‘Speak up, make your mark!‘
