Following sold-out runs at the Nottingham Playhouse and Young Vic, and simultaneous openings on Broadway and in the West End, Punch comes to Leeds Playhouse for one week only.

Don’t miss your chance to see this critically acclaimed play in a ‘powerhouse of a production’ (WhatsOnStage).

From Olivier Award-winning writer James Graham (Dear England, This House, BBC’s Sherwood), Punch brings Jacob Dunne’s extraordinary true story to the stage in a gripping, high-energy and deeply moving production directed by Adam Penford.

Jacob Dunne, a teenager from Nottingham, spends his Saturday nights seeking thrills with his friends. One fateful evening, an impulsive punch leads to fatal consequences. After serving prison time, Jacob finds himself lost and directionless. Searching for answers, Joan and David – the parents of his victim James – ask to meet, sparking a profound transformation in Jacob’s life.

A powerful true story of hope, humanity, and the possibility of change.

PUNCH is dedicated to the memory of James Hodgkinson and all victims of one punch.

A Nottingham Playhouse in association with KPPL Productions, Mark Gordon Pictures and Eilene Davidson Productions

Post show discussion

Join the cast of Punch for a powerful discussion about the play and the real-world themes it explores.

Join Jacob Dunne and Ed Davies from the Centre for Social Justice, in conversation with the Playhouse’s Associate Artistic Director, Jamie Sophia Fletcher, for a powerful and insightful discussion exploring the real‑world themes behind the play.

Jacob and Ed will delve into Jacob’s lived experience and connect it to the CSJ’s extensive work on the challenges facing boys and young men today. The Centre for Social Justice has produced several influential reports examining these issues and outlining practical, evidence‑based solutions.

This is a unique chance for audiences post show, to hear from leading voices in the field, and take part in an important conversation.
