Global Majority writers, are you sick of seeing the same sad stories being told on stage about people who look like you?
A partnership between Shakespeare’s Globe, Climate Spring and Fern Culture.
Leeds Playhouse is delighted to be an associate partner on the Climate Playwriting Prize, an open invitation for playwrights to respond creatively to the climate and nature crisis.
This award is aimed at writers and theatre practitioners who have already demonstrated a commitment to script writing (theatre, radio or screen) with some professional experience. This could include production experience (including fringe), commission, talent development schemes or work staged through R&D or scratch performances.
Submitted plays;
The winner will get £15,000, dramaturgical support on developing the play, support on next steps to produce the play and more.
The judging panel for the prize includes: Globe Artistic Director Michelle Terry, actor and comedian Lenny Henry, playwright Lucy Kirkwood, director Nancy Medina, Climate Spring’s Lucy Stone, Professor Pablo Mukherjee and director Amir Nizar Zuabi.
